About Us
Wellness First, PLLC was created during the 2020 global pandemic by a local nurse practitioner, Vanessa Rocha, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. As Covid-19 cases began to rise in the West Texas area, Vanessa desired a way to get out and help those in her community who were quarantined at home.
Vanessa has over 20 years of experience in the health care field. After becoming a nurse’s aide at a young age, she desired to further her education in nursing. She graduated from West Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2004. She worked the majority of her staff nursing career in the emergency department as well as dedicating herself to explore other areas around the hospital. Vanessa has worked in family medicine as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2014 after she received her Master of Science degree in Nursing. She is licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing and nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Additional education includes certifications in anti-aging medicine, bio-identical hormone replacement, IV therapy, and aesthetics. Vanessa is also certified by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
Vanessa is married to Benny Rocha and has three sons, Alex, Nick, and Zachary and has one granddaughter, Kairi. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Vanessa believes in going above and beyond routine standards of care, treating her patients with a holistic approach. She enjoys educating her patients and encouraging wellness interventions for her patients to implement in their daily lives to stay well and prevent chronic illness and disease.
